Susan Moldenhauer

The landscape has inspired and grounded Wyoming photographer Susan Moldenhauer’s work throughout her career.  Seeking the synchronistic, transformative moments when earth, sky, wind and human presence are one, she captures her images in one exposure in what she terms as “a performance in the landscape.”  Moldenhauer’s black and white photographs beautifully capture the open and austere Wyoming landscape, juxtaposing this with the almost spiritual and sensual movement of the figure and fabric.  Moldenhauer’s work differs from that of most landscape photographers, as it is not solely concerned with the physical environment, political and social issues, or land use; but rather the work is much more personal focusing on individual perception.
