Jeffrey Keith
Denver, CO based painter Jeffrey Keith builds on the abstract expressionist tradition with a fresh eye, extraordinary colour sense, and mastery of skill and technique. Keith is known for his large-scale abstract paintings that resonate from the canvas. The sculptural and sensual quality of these works is a result of multiple layering of pigment applied with trowels and knives rather than brushes. The work is compelling, seductive and inviting taking the viewer on a journey that explores both the process and inspiration behind the finished image. Keith has successfully captured the powerful expressive qualities of his large works in a two more recent series of smaller intimate oil on mylar and collaged oil on linen on watercolour paper paintings.
