Steven James Brown
Toronto photographer, Steven James Brown does not use photography to document reality, but to alter it. Brown employs unconventional props and lighting techniques to achieve intriguing still life colour photographs. His avant-garde style features intriguing subject matter, while remaining simple, iconographic, and vibrant. Brown uses 4 x 5 positive transparency film and a large-format camera to create his arresting and often ethereal imagery.
